How to describe a job on WhatsApp and get a clear answer
What to send a tradesperson on WhatsApp so they understand the problem, give you a realistic price and arrive with the right parts.
Most first contact with a professional in Lebanon happens on WhatsApp. A clear first message gets a faster, more accurate reply — and often avoids a wasted visit.
What to include
- Your area, so they know if they can come and how far it is.
- What the problem is, in one or two sentences.
- Two or three photos: one close up, one showing the whole area.
- A short video if there is a sound, a leak or something that only happens sometimes.
- The brand or model of the device, if it is an appliance, AC, heater or battery.
- When you are available, and whether it is urgent.
An example
“Hello, I’m in Aramoun. The kitchen sink is leaking from under the cabinet since yesterday, photos attached. Can you come this week, and roughly how much would it cost?”
Before you agree
- Ask whether the price includes parts and transport.
- Agree on the day and a time window.
- Keep the conversation: it is your record of what was agreed.
